This week was school half-term so we took the week off and drove up to the Sunshine Coast, spending a couple of nights in Malaney followed by a couple of nights in Mooloolaba. We chose the wrong time to go hiking in the mountains around Malaney - it was far too hot for hiking. Hence the relief when we arrived in Mooloolaba to the cool ocean breeze.

When we've been to Mooloolaba in the past we've mainly stuck to the main swimming area, which on some days can get some major surf. I don't mind the waves but Lauren's not so keen. However, a venture further south down the beach and it becomes quite sheltered towards the harbour area. The crystal clear waters at this end of the beach looked more like the Caribbean or Greek Islands.
